About Rocky Mountain Wooden Boat School

Located in Grand Lake, Colorado, the western gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park

Grand Lake has a history with wooden boats going back to the earliest days of the 1900's.  The mission of the RMWBS is to insure that this history is maintained  through promotion and  preservation of these classic boats.  The school's focus is to educate young and old alike to develop the skills that go into constructing and restoring these wooden boats.  Classes will be held year round with a particular focus on providing opportunities through internships for high school and post high school young adults interested in a career in the marine field.  A particular goal of the school is to build a fleet of small rowing and sailing craft to be accessible to children and their parents as a means to develop skills on the water.  Everyone is invited to become a member of the Rocky Mountain Wooden Boat School.

Grand Lake is the largest and deepest natural lake in Colorado and home to the world's highest yacht club

Rocky Mountain Wooden Boat School is a 501c3 non-profit organization.  Donors can deduct contributions under IRC Section 170.
